Sustainable Horsemanship embodies the concept of interacting with horses in such a way
as neither horse nor human are harmed and both benefit from the relationship.
Merriam Webster defines sustainable as
1) capable of being sustained and
2) a: of, relating to, or being a method of harvesting or using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently damaged and finally b: of, or relating to a
lifestyle involving the use of sustainable methods.
Our philosophy is constantly evolving in an attempt to meet this criteria. Our goal is to create a win-win scenario for both horses and humans at our facility. To this end, we attempt to keep the horses in as natural an environment as possible. Our handling and educating focuses on non-coercive methods and we are constantly looking for the best way to educate and communicate with a species who views the world entirely differently than the way we do.
